Why This Site Exists
Arrest information in Hawaiʻi is spread across separate county and state systems. The agency that makes an arrest creates the initial record. A county police department may publish booking logs, while the Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation (DCR) handles state correctional custody after a person enters its system. Court files then show case events and outcomes. No single public feed contains every step.
This site maps those public layers without copying their records. The Hawaiʻi Police Department, Honolulu Police Department, Kauaʻi Police Department, and Maui Police Department use different formats and posting schedules. The Hawaiʻi Department of Law Enforcement (DLE), including its Sheriff Division, performs statewide law-enforcement functions and issues selected news releases, but it does not operate a universal booking roster. DCR operates SAVIN custody notifications; the Judiciary provides eCourt Kōkua; the Hawaiʻi Criminal Justice Data Center (HCJDC) maintains state criminal-history services. The U.S. Marshals Service publishes federal fugitive information, the Bureau of Prisons covers federal prison custody, and ICE handles immigration-detention records. Hawaiʻi State Archives preserves historical government records. Each record remains with its own custodian.
What You Can Find
The pages collect source descriptions and explain the limits of each public record channel.
- The statewide home page explains county arrest feeds, booking records, photos, warrants, and public-record boundaries in one overview.
- The County Directory points to Hawaiʻi County, Honolulu, Kauaʻi, and Maui arrest coverage. It does not list jails or prisons.
- Arrested Today, Arrest Reports, and VINE Arrest Check describe same-day reports, wider arrest logs, and DCR custody alerts.
- DLE Arrests, court and HCJDC records, federal custody locators, and State Archives collections each add a different record trail. Hawaiʻi News Now, the Honolulu Star-Advertiser, Civil Beat, KHON2, KITV, and Hawaiʻi Public Radio report selected stories. RecentlyBooked and Mugshots.com are secondary commercial publishers, not complete official feeds, and their entries may be incomplete or stale.
What We Cannot Do
Hawaii Recent Arrests is a private information service. It is not part of a Hawaiʻi county police department, DLE, DCR, court, jail, or any other government office.
- We cannot confirm, change, or manage anyone's custody status.
- We cannot arrange a release, post bond, schedule a visit, or send money.
- We do not hold official police, court, corrections, or booking records.
- We cannot give legal advice or promise that every link, fee, or public listing is current.
Only the public office that holds a record can confirm its current contents. Arrests and booking photos describe accusations, not guilt, and a court may later dismiss or change a charge.
Search Partners
Some search boxes are operated by outside providers, which set their own prices and control the results they return. If a visitor follows a link to a paid partner service, this site may receive a referral fee. That support helps keep the reference pages available without charge. A referral does not give Hawaii Recent Arrests control over the partner's pricing, search methods, or data practices.
